HK: they were taken at a temple here in Hong Kong (or Macau). the bottom one is a for fortune telling. the seeker shakes the red bamboo holder until one stick falls out, then you take it to a fortune teller to decipher it.
Laoch: i always love the bright red and gold in the temples.
